CHALLENGE FOR WOMEN

Challenge for women is an emerging Non-profit making organisation registered in 2012 with tax exempt status. The establishment of the Challenge for Women was born out of the observation by Thembeka Sibisi of the plight of the girl child, where physical and sexual abuse was rife, in her own community in Greater Edendale & Surrounds. The organization is a registered Non -Profit Organization that seeks to improve the quality of life of the girl child and promote her best interest by; empowering and educating her and creating a healthy environment where she can thrive physically, mentally, intellectually, emotionally and spiritually.

Challenge for Women intends running Education Workshops on Abuses, Human Rights, Rights and Responsibilities, Legal Advise, Counselling, Empower and bring about re -awakening to Women so that they are able to educate their daughters to be strong and be able to defend themselves against abuses. By highlighting the voices of the girl children within our community we are taking steps toward change. Articulation of injustice leads to new hope. I think what we will also see as we journey alongside the girl child the immense joy and resilience that is present even within unbearable circumstances. There is much beauty and gladness behind our first impressions of ashes and mourning. There are strong beautiful girls working to overcome each day. Let’s take up the call to amplify their power. Let us advocate together for the worth of the girl child in our midst and globally.
